Biography
Marquetta Jackson is a gifted psalmist and a progressive worshiper from Chicago, IL. Her energy, authenticity, adoration for music, and love of God pours out in every note that she sings and every lyric she writes. Marquetta’s sole desire is to create atmospheres that will allow everyone unrestricted access to the greatness of God; to experience the power of His healing, deliverance, and salvation.
Marquetta’s enthusiasm and passion for music began at an early age where her life was surrounded by music at home, church, and school. Although her musical foundation is rooted in gospel, she has developed an eclectic pallet for various genres of music that have influenced her distinctive sound today, ranging from rock, pop, funk, and Broadway musicals to name a few. Marquetta’s love for music and worship has allowed her to share the stage with many gospel artists such as Valencia Lacy & Unquenchable Worshippers, Daniel Johnson, Marcus G. Morton, Shealeshea & Sound of Saints, and Darnell Davis & The Remnant.
In 2018, Marquetta accepted the assignment from God to lead and educate in the areas of praise, worship, and intercession, and she began Marquetta Jackson Ministries. Along with MJM, she has formed Fellowship of Worshipers, a conglomerate of worship leaders whose purpose is to motivate and galvanize a generation through various expressions of worship, and COMMUNION: Worship & Prayer Meetings. Marquetta also specializes in helping small to medium sized churches overcome obstacles and challenges in their music ministry by offering coaching, training, and mentorship. Her mission is to encourage others to walk in the calling God has placed in their lives.
In 2021, Marquetta released her debut single, “Overcomer,” available on all digital platforms, and her first live album is slated to be released in the Spring of 2023.
Marquetta has had the incredible privilege of being a wife for 19 years and mother of three. She currently serves as the Worship & Arts Leader at New Life Alive Church in Lansing, IL, under the leadership of Pastor Jerome Cook.
